>>39944479In Emerald I spent days catching boxes of Pikachu trying to get the item that allows you to breed one with Volt Tackle. When I checked back on Emerald to transfer Pokemon to the DS games it turned out that one amongst the many Pikachu was shiny.
I probably didn't notice because I was catching every Pikachu that I could find while doing other stuff and shiny Pikachu don't look that different. I never got my Volt Tackle Pikachu though.
