PLA opens with you falling through a time portal, the player character is important because they're used to catching Pokemon in a time where that's unusual, you're considered a suspect and are exiled from the town because of your status as a time traveler. Ingame there are literal time distortions that open up to give you Pokemon from other time periods, they bring ingo as another time traveler, and to top it all off, you fight and capture Dialga and Palkia, the literal embodiments of fucking time and space
PLA is an excellent example of a game themed around its time travel, meanwhile SV doesn't bring up time travel till the last 30 minutes.

You can even pimp out your house with the rotom appliances that also fall through these time distortions. PLA CONSTANTLY makes time travel central to the game and not even once does anyone bring up "umm it might not actually be time travel" like in SV with Arven.
