Sure, you can cheese it. I could have just brought 6 Sturdy Golems to every fight, or once Sashes were buyable, used Counter/Mirror Coat faggotry. But that's not good design, that's just not engaging with the game. Reborn itself is actually pretty well designed to make you engage with things like manipulating the fields, breaking them, using them to your advantage, doing sidequests to get advantageous mons for fields, this mod largely throws all of that out the window. It makes teams that are strong and actually could be well designed, and stacks so much fucking retardation on top of them.
To use a well known game for comparison: take Elden Ring, which is decently designed, make a mod where bosses now have harder movesets or mechanics, okay we're still fine, but now the bosses have 10x speed and 5000x HP. Also maybe now there's this new added sword which oneshots any enemy in the game. That's what this feels like. I either play it as it's intended and have zero fun because it's designed like shit, or I just walk around everything and still don't have fun because I'm not even playing a game at that point.
And in an action game like Elden Ring, there's going to be a bit more variety between attempts. At least it's not the same FUCKING thing over and over, where you repeat the exact same inputs on a fight menu.
I could go on and on, like how the fight design isn't even coherent with the plot of the game it's a parasite of (why does El use a fucking Arceus?) but you get the point.
