>>56747516>Blue's character arc is basically perfect for the game he's in>Lance being "Champion" wasn't really necessary when he was already the Elite Four but whatever, Masuda See, Masuda do>Steven is basically fixing Lance's role>Wallace is breaking Steven's role for no reason other than to be different>Cynthia replicates Steven's role flawlessly>Alder is a deconstructive take on Champion which is why it's fun that N replicates Blue's arc by beating him first>Iris cute>Diantha is a blatant attempt to replicate Cynthia again and flopping so tremendously hard that most people forgot about her until PokeMas>Alola inverts the Blue arc by having you ACTUALLY become the Champion which should have been the case since Johto>Galar promotes you the most fake as fuck Sports shill Champion ever but never pulls the rug out from under you and expects you to believe he really is that goodDidn't play SV so I don't care to judge it. End result is Champions haven't really been good since the 2D games and honestly I don't think these games really need them since they're just final bosses for the sake of having a final boss which is kind of lazy. The games should've been either building to a genuine threat like a real RPG (which PLA at least does) or actually stick to their in-universe logic of the Elite Four being the true final challenge. They're called Shitenou yet there's always one higher? What logic does that make?
