Step 2: click define custom colors
Step 3: choose the shade you want (should be displaying shades of the color you double-clicked on)
Step 4: establish light source and shade away
Then if it doesn't look quite right, just play around with the shades til you get it looking just right. And the green asterisk is just so if you fudge the pallet up too much, all the original colors are right there under "Basic Colors" right above where it says "define custom colors" in Step 2.
