That there are actually people who honestly feel it is necessary to berate others for liking suboptimal Pokemon astounds me. Well, perhaps "astounds" isn't the right word for it, because I can't say I'm all that surprised, given where I'm posting.
More like disappointed. I'm disappointed that there seem to be so many people who will immediately write off a Pokemon if it's too slow, or the typing isn't perfect, or if it falls under a certain BST. Call me a Karenfag if you want, because I'll wear the title proudly.
I feel that there is a difference between enjoying the competitive metagame and being so obsessed with it that you feel the uncontrollable need to demean those who are interested in Pokemon in other ways. Just like the fictional Pokemon universe is filled with trainers, breeders, contest lovers, and even just casual "pet" owners, it stands to reason that people in the real world find themselves loving Pokemon for their own reasons.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
