HM's weren't too bad at first. I could just juggle a proper 6th slot mon and an HM slave. Tedious at best, but it did offer a nice balance when done right. Though I still think Gen 5 did it best by making anything involving them optional and actually rewarding to have an HM slave on your team. Gen 4, more specifically D/P/Pt, absolutely fucked it all up to such a degree that even after they nailed it with Gen 5 removed it forever.

I agreed with this at first. But I feel like they should have made it a trade off by making TM's far harder to obtain and a more meaningful reward to obtain and heavily limit the number you obtain till post game. Ironically it'll make them even more worth attaining and make having an HM slave a more worthwhile addition as those side areas could have something rare like a TM!

I genuinely don't get why this wasn't a good thing. It's so natural that I actually had a tough time playing pokemon pre gen 4 because of this. Redpill me on this.

Eh, at this point I am 100% sure that will happend, at least for Charizard and Lucario. Maybe they will make one for Greninja. Mewtwo, that would make any sense since he was made unless it is another mewtwo made by Alolan Scientist
