He wear a tattered old lab coat, that's torn in places and missing a sleeve. his expression is always a little wild, his eyes wide with shock behind thick rimmed glasses. The people in town advise the trainer to avoid him, and just find another fight to take on, that he just isn't worth the risk of meeting. After he's defeated he will reveal that he used to be an astronomer and a Fire/Fairy trainer, but the things he saw through his instruments changed him.

Now it's fallen into disrepair, scattered notes are all around with hand written corrections over them. When the player enters, the room is empty, if the player chooses to try to use the telescope in the room, the leader will interrupt them with a shout and come rushing in. The player may perceive this as an insane threat, but the leader sees it as saving the trainer from witnessing something terrible.
