When I first picked the first generation of Pokemon games, I selected Charmander as my lead for the second playthrough in a row based solely on how I was momentarily amazed by a Charizard in my rival's steed.
I completed that second playthrough, but my thoughts always remained with the Venusaur I ditched for the sake of brief infatuation.
