Make a Pokemon game for older audiences where everything is in actual 3D, like MMO games, for bigger name consoles and maybe even PC.
Pokemons that are all actual size compared to the player wandering the area instead of random encounters. Wild Pokemon can actually attack the player, so you have to be on your guard with your own Pokemons. Sometimes, you even have to use stealth to get by a particularly powerful wild Pokemon so he doesn't rip you a new asshole.
Combat is all instant and you control it, with your Pokemon having more than 4 moves (but still a limit so it doesn't become too ridiculous). Attacks can affect and use the arena as well (pokemons taking a bit of extra damage if they slam into a tree, for example, or craters forming into the ground that will stay there for the duration of the fight)
You can also do things like actually ride your Pokemons to destination instead of pressing the "Fly" command and pointing at the city you want. You can actually have a closer connection with your team who is right there, walking by your side while you take care of them.
