He's more than confirmed as a defensive counterpart to crabrawler, and i believe instead of a rivalry, they'd have more of a friendship as they'd train them.
Which leads me to believe he might not even be fighting at all, maybe psychic... To resist and prevent the blows properly from crabrawler.
