Route one there would have an early bird and some normal shitmon. That's two pokemon. Two is kinda lame. Three would be good.

Route two (bottom) would have the normal shitmon and some bugs, less birds.

Route three (west) bugs and maybe some special things.

Route four (middle) some more rocky things like maybe the mole.

Alright bit of thinking now. Here is how I think the first demos layout could work. Assuming we use this map, it could easily work on any map though.

You start at 1, do all your assorted first town shit. You go south to 3 via the west side of the route. It's a long route 1, but hey, get good.

At 3 you want to fite the jim, but they aren't there for some plot related reason. You go out to the east on to route 2. Short quick route, but there is a forest dungeon on it. You exit to route 3 which is also short and quick, or, it's also route 2. Whatever works.

Do some plot shit at town 2. Whatever, I'm not a writer.

Exit out the west on route 4 (or 3) and this time you go down the EAST side of route 1, totally different.

Fite jim.
