Bad news - It's a Mantyke.
Somebody a while ago asked if in BB/VW Mantyke's evolution was edited even though it wasn't on the docs. I can now confirm that it is not edited. It will only evolve if you level it up with a Remoraid in your party. And in case you're wondering, you can get Remoraid in exactly one place pre-E4 - all the way back in Route 3, by fishing. It's a 5% chance too.
So my fellow nuzlockers, what do you think about catching and releasing a Remoraid just to evolve Mantyke? Is it okay?
