>>20123719you haven't seen threads about certain pokemon that turn quite lewd quite quickly? i find that the bara threads are actually more frequent offenders than the threads about things like gardevoir and lopunny. it is true that the mods don't like them, though; that's why pokeporn threads are mostly in /b/ [or at least they were, might've changed since then]
i dunno if it's even necessarily their true opinion; some people here are just angry or mean for the sake of being so. regardless, though, one can typically tell if one is being that way because 4chan culture says they should be or because they actually feel that way.
i think that it's good to have different views of this franchise a as a whole; it helps promote diversity and helps grow the fandom in new, interesting, and hopefully better ways. of course there'll be unfortunate byproducts [a trip through deviantart is likely to yield such results], but heck, it's okay to not like everything.
pokemon, to me, is a way to bring people together. i loved the "international release" thing they had going on for xy [and still like that they're keeping it close for oras], and being able to choose your language was great. wonder trade is also a really neat way to connect with others across the globe in the blink of an eye, and having multilingual pokedexes is another very cool thing, as well as the vivillon - which is why i have a complete set of them, as i love what they symbolize.
it doesn't have to be international, either. pic related, it can even bring people who live in the same area together. personally, i found my best friend because of pokemon, and as he was my friend, mentor, and "brother" all rolled into one, i know my life would never be the same without him.
i definitely agree, though, that the creative aspects of pokemon are fantastic, and i'd love to see more good stuff. got any work i can see?
