>>46942905Except it isn’t. Humans didn’t for 250,000 years tell women to act like women and men to act like men on a whim. To say gender is a social construct ignores blatantly obvious biological differences. Men have a skeleton that’s roughly 20% denser than women do. Our pelvises are of a completely different shape. X and Y chromosomes, for god’s sake. There’s a reason why forensics experts can tell a man or a woman apart simply by looking at their skeletal remains.
Different cultures might have marginally different expectations of what a man and woman are, but none of them argue that neither exist or argue for some massive fundamental difference as compared to western/European-influenced societies. Just because some polynesian jungle monkeys force weaker men to act like women when their stock of females runs low doesn’t mean that transvestites are heckin valid.
I didn’t say “science is corrupt”, ‘science’ is not some ephemeral being or singular religion. I said scientists are people who are not above being corrupted. This is a common theme I see with people like you, they treat ‘science’ the same way mediaeval peasants treated god. Science is a tool. And like any tool, it can be used improperly and abused by its user. There are entire fields of scientific study that either get shamed into silence or outright discarded when they disagree with certain political narratives; look what happened to the study of races and eugenics after WW2. At no point were they proven wrong. What happened was people were so appalled by the Holocaust that they collectively decided to simply stop studying those topics. This led to multiple generations of people coming to believe that race doesn’t exist and that eugenics is a pseudoscience, even though when you look at the actual facts the opposite is true. People conflate belief with truth. People in power exploit this for political purposes.
