>>56291030I hate stall too desu, well, over time I have tried to accept it as a part of the game, but If I'm being honest, I think there is still a deep rooted primal hatred within me. However, this is part of what makes omgon so interesting to me. Within this very thread, for instance, you see PASSIONATE hatred of stall on full display, and it's not just 4chan being 4chan, similar sentiments are routinely echoed throughout the internet as a whole. Whereas you never see anything like this type of emotional fire about the VGC community at all. People complain about what omgon does ban, they complain about what omgon doesn't ban, and they complain about every game mechanic in between. There's room for debate in the world of smogon, I suppose, and that makes it interesting. VGC is comparatively really one dimensional. And if you like that, I don't blame you, VGC gameplay is pretty consistent regardless of the banlist. I wouldn't disparage VGC and say it has no depth, but to me, it feels like once you've seen one VGC match, you've seen them all. I can understand the appeal of that, though, the VGC rulesets are simple and easy to understand, the gameplay is consistent and concise. No one dwells on a single VGC match, whereas I feel like smogon matches tend to be more memorable. I also think that teambuilding for 6v6 singles is obviously A LOT harder than team building for VGC. In this vein, I can absolutely see why randbats is by far the most popular format. But I do think VGC is generally easier to learn Smogon. There's just more nuance in smogon, stall is part of that nuance. The learning curve is harsher, hence the frustration people vent. However, even if you truly do hate stall, and see it as absolutely bad and evil, this clash of "good" vs "evil" (lol) is unironically epic, and when you emerge victorious, it makes it that much more rewarding. These conflicts between polarizing archetypes that is only permitted by 6v6 singles is something special at the very least.
