When I was younger, I only had one game boy and no real friends (or at least friends with gameboys) to evolve him with. The only way I could acquire him was with a gameshark, but that would make me unable to get wing attack + metal claw (I didn't know steel wing was better back then), which disappointed the hell out of me. Still, I always found him to be the most badass pokemon out there. I had a promo card of him from a Korokoro comic book that I tried to translate (poorly) with a Japanese-English dictionary. Somewhere among my pile of cards, I still have him.
Today though, he's even more of a bro. In competitive battling I can teach him bullet punch and have him wreck shit. In Pokemon Stadium 2, I've got him knowing Swords Dance, Steel Wing, Hidden Power (Bug) and Wing Attack. Motherfucker wins games for me
