>>53612018The argument was quite literally never that the EXP share introduces some new type of problem never before heard of in the series, just that it drastically exasperated an already casual enough aspect of the games, which is the ease at which players can train Pokémon. Even if I do what you say and catch and train like 20 dudes to stay on par with the level curve (I really shouldn’t have to to begin with but whatever) that still wouldn’t change the fact that I was able to train up several times as many Pokémon for absolutely no extra EXP cost, which just makes the games easier in ways aside from stats. Face it, the EXP share may not innately create problems but it OBJECTIVELY makes the games easier. It quite literally, undeniably, alters the mechanics of the game in such a way that makes it easier to train Pokémon. Since Pokémon was already easy, a lot of people felt the EXP share served no purpose other than to exasperate that issue.
