Let's sum up its losses:
- no base movepool
- no natural cure despite having a healing herb origin
- no secondary type retcon like its counterpart had upon gen shift
- no sword dance compatibility on a dancing plant with a grass type that in pokemon from gen1 to gen4 meant 99% of chance of learning it
- as the choice between which hidden power to use on it wasn't enough this move base power was decreased to 60
- no dazzling gleam when most of the cute and girly plants from the grass and dual grass and fairy egg groups learn it
- drought and the rest of the weather is now nerfed too so chlorophyll became obsolete
- powder moves have no more effect on grass types so sleep powder was nerfed as well so that bulky grass types can switch on it easier
- no extrasensory or psybeam
