Typical smogonfag argument against Evasion:
>You have to run moves like Defog, Whirlwind, or no-miss moves just to counter Evasion
>Those moves limit the amount of coverage your Pokemon can have
>You're forced to rely on unreliable moves
Now, let's take a look at Pokemon that use Evasion boosting moves:
>Limited coverage because Double Team / Minimize obviously takes one move slot
>Have to rely on unreliable moves
>Despite these facts, these Pokemon somehow turn into uncounterable top tier OU monsters that can sweep everything
Is there something I'm not seeing? We have to remember that most experienced players already have a phazer or two in their team along with Defog, and powerful no-miss users like M-Lucario, Aegislash, and Terrakion are very common. If Evasion got unbanned, it's not like everyone started running it since it's too unreliable and not effective in the long run. Based on my experiences against people who run Moody and Evasion on Wifi battles, I'd say that they're both completely balanced and have zero reason to be banned. I always laugh when Moody backfires at my opponents around 70% of the time and they get useless or even harmful stat changes. And let's not forget that typical Moody Pokemon run both Protect and Substitute, making their coverage very limited, and that they're exclusively shitmons like Bibarel and Glalie.
