When and how did this narrative get spread? I don't remember anyone who seriously cared about the dex restriction. I mean they advertised Poke Transporter as a feature before the game came out, so it wasn't like the dexcut situation. Everyone knew that we would still have connectivity between games. Unova just has weird, unappealing Pokemon designs to start with, which was not helped at all by the game's jaggy looking pixelart.
