>>51834939Even if it has croc elements because it needs legs to be easier for merch and the anime (Serperior being the only exception), it is literally inspired by a basilisk, the king of snakes. Autists don’t realize it’s a loose tradition, they need room for creativity. They will now add Fuecoco to their “Fennekin is a fox” retardedness.
Some great designs are ambiguous creatures. I just hoped it had more of the pepper elements (ghost pepper) than being a singer jobmon. Pic related, a common basilisk. If it has indeed a bird in it’s head it’s a genius double nod. Morrop looks like Spiderman’s Lizard with a chicken in its head- it is an afterlife deity hence the ghost type. The basilisk, the king of snakes (ZODIAC), has a golden crown or plume in the lore. Some lore described with a chicken head or even legs. Legend said it was born out of a snake/toad egg hatched by a chicken. If real this would be a switcharoo, the egg coming before the chicken and not the chicken hatching the basilisk head, which is funny if you look to the line in reverse it could be seen as hatching Fuecoco as the final evo is “dead” (ghost). Also let’s see if it looks like a chicken, the drawing looks like a phoenix made of flames, the phoenix was immune to the basilisk’s gaze and its tears could heal its venom. A flamey phoenix being the golden crown the basilisk has atop its head… no wonder I was really excited a few months ago when we had some info on this line, if well executed it could be an alltime favourite.
Is Skuntank in the dex? The smelly weasel odor was the basilisk’s weakness… and indeed Skuntank has type advantage over Fuecoco3. However most representations show a mongoose so that would be closer to Yungoos.
