The Pokemon world isn't our world, it used to be but has since been retconned.
This is why Kanto is named after a real world region in Japan, but literally every other region isn't. In fact Gen 3 was supposed to be a different world altogether from the world in gen 1/2, hence the space theme Deoxys and Jirachi and some regular Pokemon despite the main having nothing to do with space.
Gen 4 soldified that is was its own world seperate from ours.
Every fucking time this thread happens you people just cling onto shit said and shown in Gen 1 when the franchise barely knew what it was and was still growing.
