>>22325326>>22325354And OP, I know it can be hard to hear, but sometimes, you can't make something competitively viable just because you like it.
My favorite pokemon is Parasect. I love it. But man, is it shit. So I know I take a risk using it because Amoongus is a much better Defensive Spore user and Breloom is a much better Offensive Spore user. Parasect has a niche, and that's Dry Skin, which can shut down Water attackers and whatnot, but nine times out of ten bar insane prediction or luck on my part, Parasect's not gonna hold his own.
The good thing about tiers is that if your favorite pokemon kind of blow, you can use them in tiers full of other pokemon that kind of blow. And nothing's stopping you from using pokemon that blow in higher tiers. But you shouldn't bring knives to gunfights, bro. No matter how much you like the knife.
However, remember that this advice isn't bulletproof. If you really, REALLY like a knife, you should amass five other weapons that complement the hell out of the knife and each other in every way, and go to that gunfight with a hell of a plan, you can stab some motherfuckers good. It all comes down to skill and strategy, which may add on top of your team to tip the scales. But it's hard.
This comes from a guy who made it +1500 with SubPunch Poliwrath in OU earlier in the year.
