>The good
The game's presentation is pretty neat and I do enjoy how comfy and connected the region feels. The progression is fairly unorthodox since you can do things in different orders but it's handled pretty well, the game heavily incentivizes exploration which is something I enjoy and the optional areas are typically pretty interesting and engaging, I especially love the lost world island and whole primeval and secretive vibe it has going for it, I hate how many fangames outright refuse to just put fossils as normal encounters via some creative means, and Peridot addresses that concern pretty well, the changes to existing Pokemon are pretty interesting, many moves and types were buffed in very good ways, many weaker or mediocre Pokemon stand out due to widened movepools, slightly higher stats or a cool niche, this is all despite the severe limitations of pre-physical/special split which severely hampers a lot of types. The gym leader designs and their ocupations mixing in with their gyms and their mechanics are really neat and I really enjoy it, even the last gym which has the dreadful mechanic of limited steps before you faint, something that Empyrean has made me utterly fucking despise is handled incredibly well in a non frustrating manner. The twist with the champion, the elite 4 designs and some of the very charming dialogue you can get by visiting the MC's mom, professor Maple and I think Emily at some points are really endearing and I very much appreciate them. There's a lot of effort put into this hack that I really can't help but appreciate a lot, the use of the betamons is something I also really appreciate but as I said quite a few times throughout my playthrough, I do think many of them aren't necessarily bad but they really don't stand out or do enough to be worth using sadly.
>The middle grounds
Like I just said, the betamons feel bleh, many of them just lack that quick that they need-
