The key to success was a choice scarf I had that made Hitmonchan a dragon slayer instead of dead weight as every one of Lance's pokemon could one shot it. The plan was to leech seed Gyarados and let Qwilfish sweep after some swords dances and rain dance, but a dragonite survived even +6 poison jab. So I gave it 2 rare candies and tried again but things went differently, I managed to set up 5 Curses with Steelix against Aerodactyl, landed all rock tomb and avoided getting flinched by air slash and waterfall. Then I used the living members to dent the three Dragonite so they would fall to ice punch. Really a Greta battle where everyone was important.
