All points of interest are marked on the map so you don't need to wander around looking for something new or different, and you also have the option to ignore it entirely. Now, if you're a minmaxer and want to squeeze every possible advantage you can get out of the game, then that's on you. You should expect grindy repetitive tasks if you insist on minmaxing in any game.
