>>43099735Galar's tremendous energy demands, which was directly Rose's fault since he was the architect of Wyndon, the Battle Tower, Rose of the Rondelands and most other extravagant constructions in the region, were putting it at risk of an "energy crisis" 1000 years in the future which is never given any concrete explanation. Rose basically explains to Leon that in order to avert this crisis, Eternatus NEEDS to be awakened and harvested for its power in order to supply the specially-made generator room he challenges you to a battle in. Leon wishes to postpone further discussion on the matter until after your player's battle with him, but Rose, because he's impatient and worst of all, retarded, decides to awaken the energy-spewing space monster anyway, thus leading to you having your epic boss battle whereupon you catch it and proceed to rape Leon's entire team using nothing but it. Everyone knows Rose is insanely stupid, but nobody mentions the fact that the only reason Eternatus was needed in the first place was because HE was an unstable technophile who wanted to completely overhaul Galar's profile into some 24/7 big city normie hellscape that'd make Mother Nature herself shudder in fear. And Rose was willing to enslave an otherwise "innocent" being in order to continue supplying power for this purpose, thus bolstering his own reputation globally while utilizing the excess to put on heavily sponsored battles where trainers unload dangerous amounts of this energy onto their Pokemon to simulate fantastical Kaiju battles. Rose is a deranged businessman with an atrocious ego that he manages to facade dangerously well whilst putting an entire region's worth of civilians, pokemon and other walks of life and nature into potential annihilation all in the name of getting to build more phone towers and five-star hotels. Despite how hilariously pro-tech the game's image is, Rose himself is a terrifying example of just what technology and greed can do to someone.
