Sidequesting is done - none of the fights were really much to talk about and I kind of just want to move on with the story. I also don't want to touch the Neo Gearen sidequests until after the next gym as that's how it's listed in the guide + the levels will be a bit more reasonable then, with a cap of 85 instead of my current 80.
The next part of this game is a 'tournament', though obviously in practice it's more like a gauntlet for the player to show off how cool they are, again. Not much to say about it (love the guy using FEAR strats you fight in the first round though, but he's easily cheesed by Bullet Seed) other than the fact the battlefields you fight on are randomized, but that doesn't really make any of the fights more difficult, though I guess I could have accounted for if I got a truly horrible field like Underwater or New World. Anyway, at the end:
>AdamClever way to sneak a gym battle. His team - Tyranitar, Kabutops, Rampardos, Crustle, Gigalith, Mega Aerodactyl. This fight is always an Inverse battlefield. His Tyranitar is scary as its Seed gives it Normal type and Normalize in this field, making it very strong and very hard to take down, but Phione made it swap out after a few Charms to Gigalith. Slaking and Gigalith sparred for a bit before Gigalith went down, back to Tyranitar but it lost the effect of its seed. Send in Phione to Charm it again, Chandelure to take it down with Flamethrower. Out is Crustle. Send in Sableye on X-Scissor, Will o Wisp, then swap to Phione for Charm, send in Avalugg. Then, set up 6 Curses in this thing's face, it can't touch me at all and the rest of his team is physically oriented. So...pretty clean sweep.
