>>38913078For someone who claims to love this series you did a fantastic job of missing the point. You ever wonder why it is that Pokemon continues to be popular two decades after its release? Especially considering that there are other, better jrpgs out there. It's because of the customization aspect of it. You can run any team you want. Your 6 party members are 100% customizable. Now you probably say something like
> well 250 Pokemon Regional Dex is more than enough for anybody to make whatever team they wantBut the entire point of being able to use your favorites along with New Blood is using your favorites. Most people don't like being told to fuck off because they happen to be the one guy who happen to like Gliscor. But even FireRed and LeafGreen, the two games notorious for locking you out of your favorite party members before beating the Pokemon League, eventually allowed you to use your favorites even if you had to use Ruby and Sapphire to get at them. But even that isn't an excuse because at the barest minimum the Generation 3 games had a hardware gap to get over. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to be locked out of the National dex considering Nintendo is still using the models from Generation 6. That's the reason why the 3DS had ultra complicated models crammed into them, to future-proof for later games. And now we get to a game that can actually use the models to their full capacity and Game Freak just doesn't because reasons?
Fuck everyone with your mindset. I had every intention of using new Pokemon for my first adventure and then mixing in new favorites with old favorites. That's the appeal of the entire series. But now I'm hard-pressed to not wait for the later version where the National dex does exist because I guarantee it's not going to be free when it does become available. This isn't a matter of needing to create more content, this is holding old content hostage.
