If you ask me, "regional bug" isn't even really a pattern after that point. They have nothing really in common after that beyond being the first Bug-types in the Pokedex. Sewaddle/Venipede appear much later into the game than other early game bugs. Vivillon is a collectible gimmickmon. Vikavolt can't evolve until the very end of the game (at least in its debut) and has the same BST as Pinsir/Heracross/Scyther family so that really destroys the pattern of "evolve fast at the cost of low stats" they had going for them (arguably already broken in gen 5).
Regional 2-stage Normal-type mammal has at least remained consistent and regional bird has been acknowledged by official merch.
