It was the gen that got me into competitive playing because of the revamped breeding / training mechanics and I put a total of 1300+ hours into the games across four different save files in the form of team building, Battle Maison, Battle Spot and wifi battles on /wfg/. I don't care what anyone says, Gen VI was the most fun I've had with Pokemon since playing Gold version as a kid. The games have their obvious flaws such as the shitty rivals and low end-game difficulty but they introduced a lot of excellent new features and the Kalos Pokedex is one of the best in the series despite being so small. I will never be ashamed of my love for Gen VI even if everyone else on /vp/ hates those games.
