I thought it was neat. The scene afterwards actually plays out differently if you lose. In USUM, she entered the battle saying that she's doing it to quell Gladion's worries, and in SM, she's just batshit. If you lose to her, she'll look at Gladion and tell him he had nothing to worry about before jumping into the portal to get her ass handed to her. It's a bit more interesting than her jumping in anyway because she's farther up her own ass than Guzma can ever hope to be.
