Anyways, so basically I had this idea that some abilities would only work a few times and some would only work if you chose to activate it. Basically with abilities like static, you only have 2-3 "statics" right, and you would have to predict that your opponent would hit you with a physical move at the same time you activate your static. If you guess wrong you lose a static but if you guess right you get a paralyzed pokemon. This completely eliminates all the luck from dumbass abilities like static and flame body.
I was also thinking that abilities like shadow tag and arena trap would only allow you to trap something once and then you can't do it anymore.
Some abilities can stay the same like water absorb, but I feel like this change would add a bit more skill to the game. And yes I know Game Freak would neither think of this nor implement it.
