This means that grass types are not actually plants, but monsters imitating plants. Same with bug types, which aren't actually giant bugs. No pokemon is actually a super-powered version of the creature they resemble, but a mutated mew.
The question is, did anything live in the pokemon world before Mew and its crazy laser spitting children came by and fucked it all up? Considering the references to Earth present in most pokemon media, could it be that the pokemon invaded sometime in prehistory and completely replaced the ecosystem?
