i agree though, they look like 1950s sci fi tier "aliens" and not any kind of actually interesting weird thing. hell if gamefreak was at all creative, they could have done crazy stuff with 3d to make the models actually like fuck you up by having impossible dimensionality. like you know, hypercubes and shit. but no, we get muscle bug and space clown and brainlets are like wow, that IS what aliens would look like.
like can you believe there isn't an ultra beast that gets to move both before & after its opponent every turn? or gets to choose whether it moves before or after? or gets to phase out after every turn, dodging field damage/status damage? or has weird variations on future sight type attacks, like "this attack waits to hit until a the opponent switches"? anything cool? nope. nothing interesting like that. they all have the same fucking ability. it was excusable when they retroactively gave pressure to all earlier gen legendaries, but they basically did it again? just fucking shameful.
