What changes would you make to poor abilities in this day and age? It seems like a lot of the worst offenders come from Generation 3, back when I feel Game Freak didn't want Abilities to have too big an impact on the gameplay so a lot of them were near useless. Some changes I'd throw out there
>Magma Armor
-Now similar to Water Bubble. It blocks Freeze, increases power of Fire-type attacks, and reduces the damage of Water type moves by 50%.
>Flame Body
Works like a combo of Poison Point and Poison Touch now, where it adds a 30% chance to Burn on contact with this Pokemon going either way
>Hyper Cutter
Slashing/cutting moves deal 20% more damage. Also prevents Attack from being lowered.
>Big Pecks
Prevents Defense AND Speed drops now (because strong breast muscles = strong wings muscles, I guess?)
>Forewarn
On top of warning you about the opponent's dangerous attacks, the Pokemon with this ability will have increased evasion against that move (50%)
>Steadfast
Speed increase when flinching is now +2 (since flinching is so uncommon this feels fair)
>Pickpocket
Can now steal items on contact when this Pokemon uses the attack, not just when they get hit by the opponent's move
>Magician
Adds a "Knock Off Double Damage" effect to all attacks that are used to steal an item, but only applicable to special attacks. In other words, if this Pokemon has no item and hits a target who has an item with a special attack, they will take the item and damage from that attack will be doubled. This damage multiplier is not applied if the attack used is physical, if the user already has a held item OR if the target has no item to steal
>Leaf Guard / Hydration
Let the user Rest again (geez, let these abilities have some abuse potential)
>Grass Pelt
Increases Defense AND Special Defense on Grassy Terrain
>Illuminate
Lowers opponents' Accuracy -1 when switching in
