>game itself was doing baby's first open world shit even worse than SV and failing at it
>very ugly for a switch game, lmao tree
>first main title with forced EXP share which is still debated today
>frontloaded game, latter half of the region is slapped together very poorly, final parts of the game are probably the worst they've ever been in any Pokemon title ever, with a terrible climax that's literally just an elevator ride, a lack of victory road or E4, and no real postgame
>gen that cemented the generational gimmicks idea with the most "throwaway" of all the gimmicks before or after, not only completely broken in PvP but also very unpopular, only sticks around for one game
>storyline is rushed to absolute shit, character wring is okay to horrible, characters with likable designs like Marnie have no real impact on the plot
>Generation goes to the nth degree with the Kantoooo shilling, giving even more forms to Kanto Pokemon, making the last boss CHARIZARD, and making said CHARIZARD the talk of the entire fucking region
>Rose is the most laughably bad antagonist the series has ever had which is really something with clowns like RSE Maxie and Archie exist, of course this is just another side effect to the rushed development
>vast majority of the pokemon designs from the generation are contentious, Inteleon is probably the best example of Gen 8's design philosophy
>gen 8 itself has little actual fans, anyone who defended SWSH quickly jumped ship to later Pokemon titles, SWSH has nothing going for it you can't get from PLA and SV
>that fucking Piers concert scene
>didn't even get an actual anime season
I really and truly could go on but I think no matter how you feel about the generations people usually debate like Unova or Hoenn or whatever, Galar was worse than all of them. It feels like an unspoken rule at this point.
