>>58598762I never understood the argument that kids NEED to have a 11 year old protagonist or else they won't relate and ask their parents to buy the game. When I was a kid I always wanted my trainer avatar to be older and cooler than a kid like me. I remember getting excited at how Calem was visibly older than the previous protagonists and could be customized further. I see this same type of argument when people say that these games shouldn't have more focused plots or difficulty settings because "kids don't want/care about that". Me, my friends, the kids at school, and the obvious 13 year olds in youtube comments raved about N and black/white specifically because of these elements. It's like you're arguing to feed a kid slop while saying no kid will ever care if something tastes good or not.
