Considering that lots of stuff in his dorm room (bedsheets, carpet, doormat, ironing board, the entire kitchen) and his backpack (plus the laces on his hiking boots) are shades of yellow, it's pretty safe to assume that it's that.
Also just another reason why the Violet uniform looks better on him.
