>>26861922Not him, but the spongebab post contained way to much "I LIEK IT" to justify a post that long, and posting with unreserved flattery without reason invites circlejerking, which is never welcome.
>>26853615 is okay, but as a side note, praise without reason serves no purpose than to make people feel better about themselves, and if that was what they were looking for they wouldn't/shouldn't go on 4chan. And hell, if they were looking for relentless critisism and couldn't find it here, they're pretty much fucked. That being said,
>>26850417 is unjustified as a design, unless I'm missing something. Unless you're a fire/grass/water-type starter (which this clearly isn't), then pokemon's concepts are supposed to run deeper than animals with totally unrelated secondary traits. Also, while I get you're probably aiming for a gen-1 aesthetic, you overdid the whole "generic-mean-monster" thing by a good distance to the point where it's starting to look more like a gen-1 era pokemon ripoff that's trying to resemble pokemon enough to sell but be generic enough that they can't get sued, like the shit on the outside of an action replay. It's not atrocious as a design (although it's not good, either), it just doesn't look like a pokemon. Next time think of ways you can integrate the two halves of the design more fluidly while having each part of the design emphasize the others, and think of the way your pokemon would navigate it's surroundings, etc, to avoid them looking awkward, as it's hard to believe this thing has a great field-of-vision by any measure. Good effort, shit results. Try again.
