I didn't like Garchomp at first because it was a shillmon and had that Sinnoh weirdness about it but then its inoffensive ubiquity just felt natural. Out of all the Pokemon tailor made for competitive it one of the few I don't hate seeing everywhere.
Cynthia I never liked. The same ubiquity that makes Garchomp bearable makes Cynthia dull and uninteresting.
