Cloyster to me is a Pokemon that feels oddly underappreciated
It's not a lame Pokemon, most people would even say it's cool. It's just not endearing or lovable enough so I rarely see it being anyone's favorite Pokemon
Shellder and Slowpoke are often seen together but Cloyster is kind of left out from all that. Shellder's line on its own is kinda 'left out' too if you don't count the Shellder on various Slowpoke forms with Slowpoke line getting literally everything, a mega and regional forms while the Shellder line remains as one of the few gen 1 lines that haven't got any sort of new forms
Shellder is more of an accessory to the Slowpoke line rather than being appreciated as its own Pokemon. It's like they were buddies but one of them became so popular and completely overshadowed the other one. I'm not one to think all gen 1 mons should get new content (and idk how you would improve on Cloyster anyway) I just think it's a bit sad
Cloyster is a Pokemon that always lived under the shadows of others and getting compared to something else, whether it's kids thinking the face is too similar to Gastly, getting compared to a vagina or having its prevo always tied to the Slowpoke line. I always thought it's kind of sad
