>>41025283That was Corey. Yeah, he was pretty cool too. Venussaur, Scyther, Hitmonlee, Sandslash and Pidgeot are a great team. Gary was awesome because of how tough he was and his sense of humor. Ash is is like wimp in comparison. I believe the reason why Ash is written to be so weak is to make him more relatable to young kids and newcomers of the series who might otherwise feel confused or intimated by any advanced strategy being used. Which I understand, and it's a different spin on the typical shonen anime, but I would have rather preferred having Gary as the main protagonist if it meant he won the Kanto and Johto leagues, and didn't get pity badges from Gym Leaders
