It's moments like this that make the Sun and Moon anime so magical to me.
Instead of sprinting around the region Ash & co. usually just hang out on Melemele or Akala Island which gave the writers an opportunity to flesh out the world and create really great recurring characters and locations like Tapu Koko and Oranguru's Cafe.
It makes the world and characters feel truly alive in a way I don't usually see in this medium.
