Regardless when Ambertwo died Fuji outright states it, highlighting that shes gone forever.
So not so faceless and also impactful as while you only know them for a few minutes even a kid can identity how horrifying it would be to have a bunch of your friends dying/disappearing in front of you.
Also Fuji wasn't faceless either infact it pans in on his face as the flames surround him. It makes it clear him and everybody in that lab were fucking dead.
