>>50698034>knights swing lances sidewaysLances were also thrusting weapons primarily used on horseback due to their thicker nature and weight. They rarely get used on foot. Foot weapons tend to be Spears for the same thrusting 2h motion at the cost of the heavy weight and durability Lances offered.
>convince me that the swings make it a swordSwords were the primary weapon of a Knight. The Broadsword itself could be about the same length to hilt ratio as his Leek as well. You do understand that swords have flat ends for concussive damage correct? Are you ignoring that the primary attacks with Swords, especially against armored individuals, were done with huge swords with lots of weight on the broad end to inflict concussive damage? Sword blades were primarily only good against leather or unarmored individuals which is why Swords were made with a tapered point at the end so you could thrust in between plates to get vital joints.
