I originally planned on not doing that, just always pushing forward through the objectives and catching pokemon on the way to the next destination, but that changed when I got /vp/ more involved in decision-making. If I were to play alone, I'd still do that.

That rules exists so that people don't just keep running from fights until they find a particular pokemon to use a precious ball on.
