For bred variations with design influences, and this is where my autism goes into full effect, for a line to qualify for breeding variations, they have to have the same amount of evolutions within the line /megas included/
You cant breed seviper traits to a charmander, however, you can breed larvitar or bagon traits onto a charmander.
I actually went 300% autism and went through the entire pokedex to find which pokemon i thought could ACTUALLY cross breed for different appearances, I ended up getting lazy towards the end, but I feel its a pretty good list of pokemon in each egg group.
