The introduction of the mirror herb this gen means breeding for egg moves is completely unnecessary now. The only reason I ever bother breeding nowadays is either for (1) shiny hunting purposes or (2) cheaper alternative to bottle caps for building competitive mons.
They should make it so that all in-daycare dittos are treated as if they have 6 IVs for breeding purposes (regardless of what the ditto's actual IVs are for battle purposes), so the average player can, if they want to, start building a competitive team through breeding as soon as they obtain any ditto.
They should also implement some sort of bulk-hatching mechanic so I don't have to waste 5 of my 6 team slots on eggs nor watch each egg hatch individually. Maybe an "incubator" item or bag submenu where eggs are automatically stored when your party is full, and which applies the player's step count simultaneously to all eggs in it. Then the player can choose when to bulk hatch the eggs that have passed their required step count, without the hatching animation playing out each time.
